THE SNAI SAN SIRO RACECOURSE

The event will be held at the Snai San Siro Racecourse in Milan, a place rich of history, which in 2020 celebrated its centenary. The only Racecourse in the world declared "monument of national interest".

Entirely built in Liberty style by the architect Paolo Vietti Violi in 1920, it houses inside structures and monuments of great historical and artistic value. For over a century, the gallop track of Milan has been one of the most prestigious horse racing venues at worldwide level. The tracks are considered among the most selective in the world owing to several different types of tracks (four for level races, one for hurdle races, one for steeple-chase and one of cross country races) and it is possible to hold races at distances ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 meters for level races, and up to 5,000 meters for steeple-chase races.

THE BEAUTIES OF THE RACECOURSE

The Racecourse is also the home of one of the biggest equestrian statues in the world, the Leonardo's Horse, created by the american sculptor Nina Akamu, who was inspired by the original drawings of Leonardo da Vinci.

It houses a botanical park of immense value, with 55 species both native and imported from different countries of the world, all registered and labeled.

In 2019, as part of the Leonardo Horse Project, 12 scale reproductions of Leonardo's Horse were created, which are now positioned inside the racecourse park and can be visited together with the "100 Years of Emotions" exhibition realized in 2020 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the venue.

Qui è visitabile anche la mostra «100 anni di Emozioni» una raccolta di immagini, stampe e testi realizzata nel 2020 per celebrare il centenario della struttura.

THE LOCATION

An evocative location that has been hosting for years not only sporting events but also public events and that, from 2021, through a series of structural measures, is preparing to welcome a renewed structure for equestrian sports facilities to establish itself on all specialties at international level, starting with the creation of the new area for equestrian sports that has been inaugurated by the Milano San Siro Jumping Cup 2021.
